Sri Lanka Under-19 Women secured a convincing 52-run victory over England Under-19 Women in the second match of the Women’s U19 Tri-Series in Australia.
Sri Lanka posted 170 all out in 42.4 overs after recovering from early setbacks. Limansa Thilakarathne led the effort with a composed 51, while Shashini Gimhani contributed 39 to steady the innings and push the total to a competitive mark.
In reply, England collapsed under sustained pressure and were reduced to 41 for 6 inside 17 overs. Bryony Gillgrass top-scored with 35, but lacked support as wickets fell regularly.
Chamodi Praboda starred with the ball, claiming key wickets, while Aseni Thalagune and the rest of the attack maintained discipline to bowl England out for 118 in 42.1 overs.
Sri Lanka’s all-round performance ensured a dominant win and valuable momentum in the tournament.
