Three Sri Lankans at PSL2026

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) begins today, and three Sri Lankan players are participating in the tournament. Kusal Mendis plays for Peshawar Zalmi, Kusal Perera for Hyderabad Kingsmen and Dunith Wellalage for Lahore Qalandars.
The tournament will run until May 3 and eight teams are scheduled to compete in 44 matches. The opening match will see defending champions Lahore Qalandars, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Hyderabad Kingsmen, led by Australia's Marnus Labuschagne, clash at the Gaddafi Stadium today.
Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza, Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne, fast bowler Riley Meredith, New Zealand players Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman have arrived in Lahore, local media reported. Bangladesh players including Mustafizur Rahman, Naheed Rana and Parvez Hossain are also participating this time.
The tournament will be held in empty stadiums due to rising oil prices, and the opening ceremony in Lahore has been canceled. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in six cities, but due to the current crisis, the hosting has been limited to Lahore and Karachi.
