Sri Lanka has appointed international coach Pétros Pétroglou., a Greek national, as the new head coach of its national volleyball team. Having recently arrived in the country, he brings extensive international experience, having previously coached both junior and senior national teams across Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia.
Earlier, the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation also appointed Turkish coach Onur Ergench, another internationally experienced professional, to lead the national beach volleyball teams.
This marks a historic milestone for Sri Lankan volleyball, as it is the first time the country has engaged two foreign coaches simultaneously to oversee both indoor and beach national teams.
