Sri Lankan athlete Manmita wins karate medals in the US

Manmita Senadhi Jinasena, who began her journey in karate in Sri Lanka, won the silver medal in the Under-15 Kata category at the US National Karate Championships held in Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

She participated in the tournament representing the Maryland State Karate-Do School.

Last year, she won a silver medal in the Under-14 Kata division at the US National Karate Championships. This year, she secured a gold medal in Kata and a silver medal in Kumite at the Mid-Atlantic Karate Championships held in Virginia in May.

Manmita began practicing karate at the age of seven and is currently studying in the United States. Her next goal is to win a gold medal at the national championships next year.
