Chennai Super Kings defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 78 runs to register their fifth win of the 17th season. Chasing 213 on a slow track, the aggresive batters of the Orange Army failed to get and the team was restricted to 134 in 18.5 overs. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen flopped in the second consecutive game.
Tushar Deshpande took four wickets for the defending champions. Mitchell took five catches in the game.
Earlier, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad accumulated 98 runs. Daryl Mitchell (52) and Shivam Dube (39) took the score to 212/3.
