Delhi Capitals registered their first victory in IPL 2024 by defeating the Chennai Super Kings by 20 runs.
After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals elected to bat first and set a target of 192 runs for the Chennai Super Kings. David Warner (52) and skipper Rishabh Pant (51) scored half-centuries for Delhi. Matheesha Pathirana was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for the Chennai Super Kings.
In pursuit of the target, Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni put up a big fight for victory until the last moment. However, the Chennai Super Kings could only manage to score 171 runs. Mukesh Kumar took 3 wickets, while Khaleel Ahmed took 2 wickets for the Delhi Capitals.
