Rajasthan Royals sealed the deal in their opening match against Lucknow Super Giants at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Rajasthan.
The match began with the Rajasthan Royals skipper, Sanju Samson, electing to bat first. Samson smashed a brilliant unbeaten 82 runs off 52 balls, while Riyan Parag contributed 43 runs to Rajasthan’s total. However, Rajasthan managed to post 193/4 runs in 20 overs. Naveen-ul-Haq took 2 wickets for Lucknow Super Giants.
Chasing the target, Nicholas Pooran (64*) put up a big fight for victory, but Rajasthan Royals managed to limit them to 173/6 runs in the allocated 20 overs. Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul added 58 runs to the innings. Trent Boult took 2 wickets, and Nandre Burger, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Sandeep Sharma each took 1 wicket for Rajasthan Royals.
