Sri Lanka wins four Bronze medals at BIMSTEC youth swimming in the opening day

Christina Perumal of Asian International School has brought pride to Sri Lanka by winning the first medal at the BIMSTEC Youth Aquatic Games which started yesterday at the Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Pool Complex in New Delhi, Perumal’s standout performance was in the girls’ 200m breaststroke event.

Sri Lanka finished the first day on a high by winning 4 bronze medals and occupying the third place in the medal table.

Dinali Karunadasa of Visakha Vidyalaya won the third place in the girls’ 200m individual medley event.
The Sri Lankan boys 4x100m freestyle relay team consisting of Manuj Gamage, Chris Pavitra, Binura Talagala and Kaweesha Silva managed to win a bronze medal in 3:43.19 hours.

The Sri Lankan girls’ 4x100m relay team Dinali Karunadasa, Thevindi Methlini, Chanudi Kumarapperuma and Jessie Seneviratne added their fourth bronze medal to Sri Lanka.
