Sports Minister Mr. Harin Fernando has issued a gazette announcement temporarily suspending the registration of two sports associations and 03 sports federations.
That is according to the powers assigned to the Minister of Sports under Sections 32 and 33 of the Sports Act No. 25 of 1973 and amendments.
Accordingly, the associations and federations have been temporarily suspended and the Director General of the Sports Development Department has been assigned to conduct official elections and administrative work with effect from the 21st of this month.
Sports Associations and Federations suspended in this way are,
Sri Lanka Archery Association
Sri Lanka Kabaddi Federation
Sri Lanka Wrestling Federation
Sri Lanka Bridge Federation
Sri Lanka National Wheel Shoe Association
