The Sri Lanka Senior Badminton Team managed to win 05 medals in the Asian Senior Badminton Tournament.
It includes 02 gold medals, 02 silver medals and 02 bronze medals.
Former national champion Renu Chandrika de Silva won the gold medal in the over-45 women’s singles event and won the mixed doubles gold medal in the 80-110 age group along with Rohan de Silva in the tournament held at the Tien San Sports Complex in Da Nang, Vietnam. .
Manjula Sampath Fernando won the silver medal in the men’s singles event above 45 years, and Lakshmi Punchiheva won the bronze medal in the women’s singles event above 65 years.
She along with Renu Chandrika de Silva won the bronze medal in the women’s doubles category in the 80-110 years age group.
Many senior athletes representing many countries participated in this tournament which was organized by the Asian Badminton Federation.
