Sri Lanka lost to Canada yesterday 50-46 in the first match of the Singapore Nation Cup invitational Netball 2023 tournament.
This tournament, which is conducted by Netball Singapore for the 15th time, will be held at Sports Hub Singapore till October 28 with the participation of Canada, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Singapore ‘A’, Cook Island and Singapore.
Canada was ahead in the first and second quarters 16-12, and 14-12.
Sri Lanka fought back to win the third and fourth quarters 10-9 and 12-11.
Sri Lanka is ranked 20 in the world but lost to a country which is not ranked.
Sri Lanka is scheduled to play against Singapore ‘A’ today (23).
