South Africa and Sri Lanka recorded the highest match aggregate (754) in an ODI during match four of the CWC 2023. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first. South Africa capitalized on this opportunity and set a mammoth target of 428/5 in their allocated overs. Quinton de Kock (100 off 84), Rassie van der Dussen (108 off 110), and Aiden Markram (106 off 54) scored centuries for the South African innings. Dilshan Madushanka took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.
Chasing the target, Sri Lanka lost their first wicket in the 1.1 over. However, Kusal Mendis smashed a quick 76 runs before falling to Kagiso Rabada. Charith Asalanka and skipper Dasun Shanaka contributed 79 runs and 68 runs respectively for SL. Eventually, Sri Lanka could only score 326 runs before being all out.
