Asia’s fastest man and woman
A Chinese athlete and a sportswoman won both the men’s and women’s 100m events held for the selection of Asia’s fastest male and female athlete. According to this, China’s Xie Zhenye won the event finishing the race in 9.97 seconds. China’s GE Manqi won the women’s race in the event, with a time of 11.22 seconds. The Asian Games record in this event is held by Sri Lanka’s Susanthika Jayasinghe (11.15 seconds), which she set up in 2002.
