South Africa beat Uganda, victories for Jamaica and England

With an insurmountable task ahead of them, South Africa took to the court for their Pool G match against Uganda at the Netball World Cup 2023.

If the Proteas wanted to have any chance of progressing to the semifinals in Cape Town, they had to beat the She Cranes by 64 goals and prevent their opponents from scoring more than 20.

The South Africans did manage to beat Uganda 52-50, leaving them out of the top four. Thursday’s victory, however, was sweet revenge for the loss (48-54) they suffered at last year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham when Uganda relegated them to sixth place in the playoffs.
