The Annual National Para Athletic Championships of 2022 of the National Paralympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NPC) will be held at the Sugathdasa International Stadium on 28th and 29th June 2022. This will also be a qualifying meet for the upcoming Asian Para games to be held in Hanhzhou China early next year.
There will be more than 650 Para Athletes including athletes with visual, physical and intellectual disabilities competing in different categories of field and track events representing 31 member clubs of the NPC including the Sri Lanka Army. Competitors will include some of Asia’s best track and field Athletes determined to make their best performance during this year’s championships.
The opening ceremony will be at 0900hrs on Tuesday, 28th June 2022 headed by the Honorary President of the NPC.
The COO of Dialog Axiata, will grace the closing ceremony as Chief Guest on Wednesday, 29th June 2022 together with a host of dignitaries representing various other organisations connected with para sports including MAS Holdings, the official clothing partner of the NPC.
The President together with the executive committee of the NPC, hope and trust that the electronic, print and social media will provide a wide coverage leading up to the championships and also during the meet in the best hope of creating publicity and awareness in a challenging time as this.
Dialog Axiata will sponsor the two day championship event, while MAS holdings will be the clothing partner of the event.
