Sri Lanka Under 19s record massive win over Kuwait

Sri Lanka Under 19s crush Kuwait by bowling them out for just 49 runs in the opening game in the Under 19 Asia Cup. They recorded a stunning 274 run win and secure a highly positive net run rate in Group B.
Dunith Wellalage (4 for 2), Sadisha Rajapaksa (3 for 4) and Matheesha Pathirana (2 for 7) did the bowling damage. The Kuwait captain Meet Bhavasar was the only player who made a respectable score when he scored just half the team total. Apart from his 25 and other opener Jude Saidanha who scored 12, no other batter could pass even 3 runs. 4 were bowled out for a duck.
Sri Lanka Under 19s started the game by posting a mamoth 323 runs for 5 wickets in 50 overs. Half centuries were scored by Chamindu Wickramasinghe, Shevon Daniel, Pawan Pathiraja and Ranuda Somaratne. Chamindu and Shevon the openers scored 54 runs each and 2 down batter Pawan who is in fine form, missed out on a well deserved century by 14 runs as we was dismissed for a 72 ball 86. Ranuda was not out on 60.
The Sri Lanka Under 19s will meet Nepal on the 26th of December.
