ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021

Today we bid good bye to the United Arab Emirates, whilst the Cricket World conveys her gratitude to a Nation that hosted the T 20 World Cup 2021 , with immaculate efficiency.

Australia added the only Silverware that eluded them for the past six years , but tonight it finds a home in her closet , after the men in yellow , not only silenced their critics , but proved to the World , that they are true Champions.

New Zealand, have always proved to be the best sporting nation in the World. They leave the UAE , after coming second to a better team , but they richly deserve to be the runners up.

Put into bat yet again , the Black caps, got themselve into a hole , in the power play overs , as Jos Hazelwood and co ; restricted them to just 32 runs for the loss of Darryl Mitchell , who was Hazelwood’s first victim , when he tried to open the face of a Hazelwood slower ball , only to nick it to keeper Mathew Wade for 11 runs , with New Zealand on 28.

Guptill who was rusty today , was joined by his skipper Kane Williamson , and the pair stiched a 48 run partnership for the second wicket, before Guptil was caught at the cow corner by Stonis off an Adam Zamps Googly for 28. With New Zealand on 76 for 2 wickets, kane Williamson, opend his Shoulders. The kiwi Captain proved to all young hopefuls, that this version of cricket , is swinging at every ball or great improvisation or for that matter , agricultural strokes gets you runs. He made a quality , stroke filled 85 off 48 balls , but sadly lost his wicket at a vital time , when jos Hazelwood, had him caught by Steven Smith in the deep , off a back of a length delivery .

Glenn Philip , also fell victim in the same over , to Hazelwood, who ended his quota of 4 overs with an impressive 3 for 16.

Adam Zampa took 2 for 26 , and New Zealand could only muster a par score of 172 for 4 Wickets, on a two paced pitch, which looked abit slow , in comparison to the last semi-final game which Australia won on Thursday to qualify for the finals today.

With a target of 173 , and despite the loss of Skipper Aaron Finch for 5 with the scorebon 15 , the Aussies feasted, with Mitch Marsh and David Warner, the man ofvthe tournament , when they got a match winning partnership of 92 runs , to their credit , by always being ahead of New Zealand in the run chase.

Mitch Marsh showed his class. He was unbeaten on 77 , to guide his team to the World Cup crown.

Warner was bowled by Tent Boult for 53 with the Australian score on 107 , a twist in the script or a glimmer of hope for the Black caps faded , because Maxwell, who seemed to be in the freezer during this World Cup suddenly got to the pitch and came out blazing with a power hungry 28 not out to see the boys in Yellow grab the long awaited World Cup trophy.

Mitch Marsh was adjudicated as man of the final , whilst David Warner embarrassed those critics who stated that he was a spent force in the IPL this year , when he proved all of them wrong by being adjudicated as playerbof the tournament.
