Afghanistan won the toss against a deciplined New Zealand seam attack were undone by Trent Boult and Tim Southee , hence they could muster only 124 for 8 wickets.
Najibullah Zardan top scored for the Afghanistan side with a fantastic 73. Gulbadin Naib and Mohd Nabi were the only batters to join Zadran to get into double figures. Gulbadin got 15 whilst Mohd Nabi made 14.
Trent Boult, adjudicated as man of the match took 3 for 17 , whilst his partner Tim Southee chipped in with 2 for 24.
125 as a target for New Zealand on the Abu Dhabi pitch was not a big task.Williamson was unbeaten on 40 , and Devon Convey came to the party with an unbeaten 36.
