Former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene tipped to appoint as the as the Chairman of the Selection Committee of the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team.
This vacuum has been created after Asantha de Mel has resigned as the Chairman of the Selection Committee of the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team.
Mahela Jayawardene also appointed as the new chairman of the National Sports Council appointed by Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa.
Kumar Sangakkara, another former captain of the Sri Lanka Cricket team and currently the President of the Marylebone Cricket Club in England, has also been appointed to the 14 – member National Sports Council.
