SLC removed two players against England

The Sri Lanka Cricket selection committee has decided to remove two players from the squad by retaining only five of the seven new players in the squad for the two-match Test series against England.

Accordingly, Sri Lanka middle-order players Angelo Mathews and Roshen Silva, fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep, all-rounder Ramesh Mendis and spinner Lakshan Sandakan have been retained in the squad. Accordingly, opener Avishka Fernando and all-rounder Ashan Priyanjan have been dropped from the Sri Lanka squad for the Test series against England.

Dhananjaya de Silva and Kasun Rajitha, who were injured during the tour of South Africa, have been dropped from the Sri Lanka squad, but Dinesh Chandimal, Oshadha Fernando, Suranga Lakmal and Lahiru Kumara, who were part of the 21-man squad, have been retained.

Accordingly, the Sri Lanka squad named against England has already been sent to the Minister of Sports for approval.
