LPL 2020 : Sri Lanka Cricket sets deadline for all stakeholders to be in country by 15th Nov

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has set a deadline for all stakeholders of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) to be present in Sri Lanka on or before November 15.

SLC has conveyed this message to their event-holder, Innovative Production Group (IPG) in Dubai, to coordinate with the respective franchises to finalise their squads by today, after several foreign players pulled out due to various reasons at the eleventh hour.

This deadline will include the arrival of players and television crew, along with supporting staff. All these personnel are likely to arrive on a special charter flight operated from Dubai.

The LPL 2020, which is scheduled to commence on November 26 at the MRICS, Hambantota, will see a high-profile commentary panel in action to help broadcast the action live across the world.

The six-member television panel will include Mike Haysman of Australia, Roshan Abeysinghe, Russel Arnold, Aamer Sohail of Pakistan, Herschelle Gibbs of South Africa, and Darren Ganga of West Indies.

Meanwhile, the Army has been given the nod to take care of the security and logistics of the tournament.
