Vinod and Taniya clinch junior golf titles

Vinod Weerasinghe and Taniya Balasuriya emerged boys and girls champions respectively at the Prima sponsored  Sri Lanka junior open golf championship concluded at the Royal Colombo Golf Club on Friday. Both Vinod and Tanya won this major titles for the third time.

Vinod, scoring 220 points excelled in this event while Tanya obtained 217 points to take the title while Kayla Perera 234  and Sherin Balasuriya 249 won first and second runners-up.

Haroon Aslam 238 and S Duwarshan 247 won the second and third places respectively in the boys’ golf category but Vinod was well ahead of this event with superb performances.
C. Dharanian and Shanal Binushka won the copper and bronze category while Nirekh Tejwani won the silver category.

Ceylon Agro Industries the Prina Group has sponsored this Junior Golf championship for the twelve consecutive year and its General Manger Shun Tien Shing was the chief guest while Sajith Gunaratna Deputy General  Manager Ceylon Agro Industries and President of the Golf Federation Air Chief Marshall Harsha Abeywickrama also graced this occasion and gave away the awards.
