Sri Lankan shuttlers lose to India 5-0 in Group Stage CWG 2018

Sri Lanka shuttlers lost all five matches played on day 1 in group stage to India. Sri Lanka will meet Pakistan tomorrow.
In the first match, Sri Lankan mixed doubles Sachin Dias and Thilini Pramodika Hendahewa lost to India’s Pranaav Chopra and Ruthvika Gadde 1 match to 2. (15-21, 29-19, 20-22)
In the second Match for males singles, India’s Srikanth Kidambi beat Sri Lanka’s Niluka Karunarathna 2 matches to 1 (21-16, 21-10)
In the third match, Sri Lankan men’s double Dinuka Karunarathna and Buwaneka Gunatillake were defeated by Indian counterparts Satwick Rankireddy and Chirag Chetty by 0 matches to 2 (17-21, 14-21)
In the women’s single, India’s Saina Nehwal beat Sri Lanka’s Madushika Beruwalage 2 games to 1 (21-8, 21-4)
In the women’s double, Sri Lanka’s Thilini Hendahewa and Kavidi Sirimannage lost to India’s Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy by 2 games to 0 (12-21, 14-21)
