Netherlands crush Sweden with dominant World Cup display in Houston

The Netherlands ripped through Sweden 5-1 in a World Cup Group F clash at NRG Stadium, powered by a blistering start and a Cody Gakpo masterclass. Ronald Koeman’s side were two up inside 17 minutes, then put the game away right after halftime. Sweden had their moments, especially after the break, but the damage was already done.

On Sofascore, the numbers tell the same story. The Dutch won the xG battle 2.47 to 0.98 and converted all three of their big chances. Gakpo took Player of the Match honors with a Sofascore Rating of 9.7, a night that mixed ruthless finishing and constant threat on the break.
