Wicketkeeper-batter Shemaine Campbelle played an unbeaten knock of 90 runs off 62 balls on Saturday to help the West Indies chase down a target of 163 in 19.5 overs and register a seven-wicket victory over defending champions New Zealand in their opening match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
During her match-winning innings, Campbelle smashed seven fours and three sixes and stitched together a crucial 74-run partnership off 61 balls for the second wicket with captain Hayley Matthews, who scored 48 off 37 deliveries.
