The Formula 1 2026 season delivered another dramatic chapter at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai, where 19 year old Italian sensation Kimi Antonelli produced a stunning performance to claim victory and further cement his place as the sport’s newest superstar.
Starting from pole position, Antonelli controlled the race from the very beginning, building a comfortable gap and managing his tyres perfectly across the 56 lap contest. The young Mercedes driver crossed the finish line ahead of teammate George Russell, completing a dominant Mercedes 1 and 2 finish.
