India secured their third ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title by defeating New Zealand.
Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first. India took full advantage of the opportunity and posted a massive total of 255/5 in their 20 overs.
Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan were the top scorers, making 89, 52, and 54 runs respectively.
Chasing the challenging target, Tim Seifert and captain Mitchell Santner tried to lead New Zealand to victory, scoring 52 and 43 runs respectively.
Despite their efforts, the Indian bowlers delivered a brilliant spell, bowling out New Zealand for 159 runs in the 19th over. For India, Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel took important wickets.
India eventually won the match by 96 runs, sealing a memorable T20 World Cup triumph.
