Dasun Shanaka played a magical innings of 76 off just 31 balls, keeping Sri Lanka’s hopes alive. With every delivery, the crowd roared, believing a win was possible. But in the last moments, a dot ball broke the dream and Pakistan won by just 5 runs.
Earlier, Pakistan batted first and set a strong target of 212/8, with Sahibzada Farhan smashing a brilliant 100 off 60 balls and Fakhar Zaman adding 84 off 42. For Sri Lanka, Dilshan Madushanka took 3 wickets.
Sri Lanka fought hard, led by Dasun Shanaka, and Pavan Rathnayake’s 58 off 37. But despite their efforts, they fell just short finishing at 207/6. Eventually , Pakistan won but their semi-final hopes were dashed.
