England took the lead in the three-match series, winning the first game by 11 runs (DLS). Rain had reduced the match to just 17 overs, and after winning the toss, England chose to bowl first.
Sri Lanka struggled with the bat, losing wickets regularly and managing only 133 runs before being all out. Kusal Mendis was the top scorer with 37 runs off 20 balls, while Sam Curran and Adil Rashid picked up three wickets each for England.
In reply, Phil Salt played a strong innings, scoring 46 runs to guide England closer to victory.
England needed just 9 runs from the last two overs when rain stopped play at Pallekele, confirming their win.
