Sri Lanka will have to address batting issues ahead of T 20 World cup.

Sri Lankan approach and weaknesses have been exposed at Rawalpindi by Pakistan and to a great extent by even Zimbabwe.

The team looks unsettled. Some may think it’s all a passing cloud , Anura Tennekoon my former colleague and Manager of the 2011 world cup thinks so , but the general public have a different mind set , whilst the media , is finding it difficult to make excuses on behalf of the teams blow hit , blow cold attitude.

Kusal Janith Perera and Pawan Ratnayaka is not the answer to the batting woes.

Option is limited. Kamindu Mendis must be given a pep talk and bat up the order

The selectors must be given an opportunity to analyse Charith Asalanka’ as a player.

If he is removed as Captain, and asked to concentrate with his batting he will definitely do a favour to himself and the team. The duel role is not his cup of tea period. Enough is enough Charith score or depart.

On spinning tracks play the 3rd spinner Viyaskanth, at the expense of Eshan Malinga. However have that option open depending purely on the surface.

The BPL , have been honest with their drop outs.

Dinesh Chandimal , Dhananjay de Silva , Charith Asalanka’, Kusal Janith Perera as batters were not sold.

Binura Fernando, Lahiru Kumara , Jeffrey Vandersay Chamika Karunaratna not sold

Dushmantha Hemantha sold.

Is there a message for the selectors , I feel to a great extent yes.

An international Franchise , not too keen on Sri Lanka”s specialist batters , and reputed bowlers but giving the nod to Dushan Hemantha has a hidden message.

Sadly hopefuls like Niroshan Dickwella , Kamindu Mendis , and to an extent Charith Asalanka’ have not found favour with the selectors , because they are all guilty of taking their places in the playing eleven for granted.

Unless Sri Lanka address the spin issue with current day batters , Sri Lanka will be a threat to only associate members in World cup 26
