IND crowned Asia Cup champions after thrilling win, but not awarded the trophy

India are the Asia Cup champions after beating Pakistan by 5-wickets in a final that will be remembered for years to come. A rollercoaster match, going one way then another, but in the end a special effort from India’s lower middle order to seal the title.

Tilak Varma comes of age in the most spectacular fashion in a high-pressure environment. It wasn’t his biggest, it wasn’t his blitziest, but it was certainly his gutsiest. 69* truly important runs after the top order crumbled, staying in right through to the end. Given able support by Shivam Dube, with Rinku Singh whacking the winning runs.

A monumental collapse from Pakistan, and there is no other way to put it. An 84-run opening partnership meant they were going strong at 113/1 in the 13th over, but things simply fell apart from that point forward. In the next 7 overs, they lost 9 wickets, and added only 33 runs. Kuldeep Yadav stayed on fire, sparking 4 wickets, including three in the space of an over. Varun, Axar, and Bumrah chipped in with two apiece. At the end, India chasing 147.

India bowled out Pakistan for 146 in 19/1 overs in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 and now chase a meagre target to be crowned champions for a record-extending 9th time. Pakistan endured a terrible batting collapse, losing nine wickets for 33 runs, with Indian bowlers enjoying a field day. Pakistan were rollicking along at 113/1 with Fakhar Zaman and Sahibzada Farhan setting the platform with a couple of cracking innings. However, what transpired from there was pure magic as India’s spinners clawed things back. Kuldeep, who inside two overs had bled 25 runs, finished with 4/30 from 4 overs. Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy and Axar Patel scalped 2 each.
