The 111th Sri Lanka National Tennis Championship, organised by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) and powered by title sponsor YETI Isotonic, is set to take place from 8-24 August at the SLTA Courts in Colombo.
A record 1,200 players are scheduled to be in action during this tournament, SLTA officials announced at a press conference held at their headquarters on Tuesday (5).
The event, one of the biggest in the country’s tennis calendar, is regarded as a Super Series tournament in the SLTA Tour and will run for 17 days, covering age groups from Under-12 to Over-65, including Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, and Wheelchair
“This is more than a championship. It’s a celebration of tennis in Sri Lanka,” said SLTA President Iqbal Bin Issack.
“We are proud to welcome 1,200 players this year, showing the rising popularity of this sport in the country. What’s even more special is that we are including a Wheelchair tennis category once again, highlighting the inclusive spirit of tennis,” he added.
For the second successive time, YETI Hydration (Pvt.) Ltd. has stepped in as the title sponsor, while Ralhum Trading Company (Pvt.) Ltd. joins as the Official Ball Sponsor.
YETI CEO Malik Perera said supporting the championship is part of their broader mission.
“At YETI, our purpose is simple but powerful–to fuel athletes to perform at their best,” he said.
The tournament will be held across 10 courts at the SLTA premises in Colombo.
