Sri Lanka has been chosen as the host country for the 2027 Asian Youth Netball Championship, following a decision made at the Asian Netball Federation’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held Wednesday (2) in South Korea, The Daily Morning Sports, learns.
Former head of the Netball Federation of Sri Lanka (NFSL) and the current President of Asian Netball Lakshmi Victoria had been instrumental in Sri Lanka receiving the hosting rights for the said event in two year’s informed sources revealed.
The AGM took place during the 13th Asian Youth Netball Championship, where Sri Lanka’s proposal to host the 2027 edition had received majority approval from the regional governing body.
Sri Lanka thus stands to host the 14th edition of the championship having previously hosted it back in 2014.
Furthermore, Sri Lanka also plans to host the South Asian Under-16 Netball Tournament with the support of Asian Netball.
