Rushali Dissanayake of Musius College broke a 44-year-old record on the third day of the All-Ceylon School Age Group Aquatics Championships held at the Sugathadasa Swimming Pool.
Rushali set the record in the 400m freestyle preliminary round under the under-16 age group by clocking 4:55.68 minutes, breaking the previous record set by Bishop’s College Udeshika Biyanwila in 1981 with a time of 4:58.10 minutes.
