Will Dimuth Karunaratne join Sri Lanka tour of West Indies

The final decision on whether Sri Lanka Test and ODI captain Dimuth Karunaratne will join the upcoming West Indies tour will be taken on the 9th of this month. That’s because the final X-ray report of his broken finger is due that day.

Dimuth Karunaratne was injured during the second Test against South Africa and missed the two – match Test series against England in Sri Lanka.

Dimuth Karunaratne had commented to the Daily FT regarding his disability.

“At the moment I can not say for sure about the injury. After receiving the X-ray report on the 9th of this month, it will be decided whether to join the West Indies tour or not. The wound is still healing. I haven’t started training yet after the injury. I only do fitness exercises right now. ”

However, Dimuth Karunaratne says that all the players who did not participate in the second Test against England have started training since last week.

There will be two Tests, three ODIs and three T20I matches between Sri Lanka and the West Indies.

The Sri Lanka squad for the tournament is scheduled to leave the country on the 18th of this month and the first match between the two countries will start on the 28th of this month.
