The Sri Lankan cricketers, who are currently playing two Tests against the South African team, are set to sign their annual contracts with Sri Lanka Cricket after the Test series against England in Sri Lanka next month.
The two-match Test series between Sri Lanka and England will be played from January 14 to 26, after which Sri Lanka will take on the West Indies in a Test series. Sri Lanka Cricket Chief Executive Officer Ashley de Silva said that the annual agreements of the Sri Lanka Cricket players will be signed before joining the tour.
“We have extended the players’ contracts until January. The contracts of the players ended last November. But since they are touring South Africa and England, we extended those contracts by two months. But they hope to sign their annual agreements as soon as the tour of England is over. ” Said Ashley de Silva, CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket.
“We have not yet categorized players for new contracts. We will focus on that again. Last year, about 30 of our players signed contracts for international cricket. He added:
Sri Lanka Cricket has announced the simultaneous squad of 21 players for the tour of South Africa and England.
