Dushanth Lewke has been appointed as the Head Coach of Sri Lanka’s national rugby team for the 2026 season, according to Sri Lanka Rugby.
A former Sri Lanka international and the team’s previous forwards coach, Lewke secured the top coaching position after leading CR & FC to an impressive league and Clifford Cup double this season.
Widely respected in local rugby circles, Lewke brings extensive experience both as a national player and coach. He is expected to guide the next stage of Sri Lanka’s rugby development on the international stage.
Sri Lanka Rugby also confirmed the rest of the coaching and support staff for the men’s 15-a-side team. Henry Terrance will serve as the Forwards Coach, while Lasintha de Costa has been appointed Assistant Coach. Tharanga Premakumara will take on the role of Physiotherapist, and Vishwamithra Jayasinghe will work as the Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Together, the newly appointed staff are expected to support the national team’s preparations and performance in upcoming international competitions.
