The Sri Lanka Netball Federation has decided to hold another selection competition due to the protests that erupted after the Netball Selection Committee cut six former talented players from the selection competition aimed at the Asian Netball Championships to be held in Hong Kong in August this year
The current netball selection committee was appointed last year, and the new netball administration is reported to have expressed concern over the way talented players were selected in the recent preliminary selection test. Therefore, the Sri Lanka Netball administration is of the opinion that the preliminary squad should be selected more carefully in the upcoming preliminary selection test.
Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Netball Federation has arranged to hold the selection test to select 30 players on the 11th at the Bandaragama Indoor Stadium from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. Players over the age of 18 with a minimum height of 5 feet 7 inches and players over the age of 5 feet 10 inches (there is no age limit) can compete in this selection match.
