India beat England despite Bethell’s 105

IND v ENG– 2nd Semi-Final | ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

India secured a place in the T20 World Cup final for the fourth time, beating England by just 7 runs at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Earlier, England won the toss and invited India to bat first. Sanju Samson led the Indian batting with 89 runs, while Shivam Dube added 43 runs helping India post a massive total of 253/7 in 20 overs.

Chasing the mammoth target, England’s top order did not perform well. However, young player Jacob Bethell played a brilliant knock of 105 runs off 48 balls and almost drove England to victory. Despite his effort, Jasprit Bumrah’s 18th over, in which he conceded just 6 runs, changed the momentum of the match. Eventually, India managed to restrict England to 246/7 and secured a place in the final.

The T20 World Cup final will be played on Sunday, 8th March, in Ahmedabad.
