WI v SCOT – Match 02 | ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

The Windies started their T20 World Cup 2026 with a strong 35-run victory over Scotland in the second match, played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Asked to bat first, the West Indies posted a solid total of 182 runs in their 20 overs. Shimron Hetmyer was the star of the innings, playing a brilliant knock of 64 runs off 36 balls. His innings was extra special as he reached his fifty in just 22 balls. Brandon King also played a useful role, scoring 35 runs, while Sherfane Rutherford added 26 runs to help Windies build a competitive total.
In reply, Scotland struggled against disciplined West Indies bowling and were bowled out for 147 in 18.5 overs. Romario Shepherd delivered a match-winning performance with the ball. He became the first West Indian to take a hat-trick in T20 World Cup history and finished with an impressive five-wicket haul.
