wpl2026-RCB win last-ball thriller, beat MI in WPL opener

Nadine de Klerk played a blinder as Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women defeated Mumbai Indians Women by 3 wickets in a last-ball thriller at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Friday. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side was in control with RCBW needing 18 off the final four balls, but de Klerk smashed two fours and two sixes to pull off an incredible win for the chasing team in the WPL 2026 opener. She finished unbeaten on 63 off 44 balls. Earlier, Sajeevan Sajana and Nicola Carey revived MIW’s innings, helping the team post 154 for 6. MIW were in trouble after losing Harmanpreet Kaur and G Kamalini, but Sajana and Carey counter-attacked brilliantly. Nadine de Klerk was also the pick of the bowlers for RCBW with figures of 4 for 26 after captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and opted to bowl first
