Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Chief Selector Pramodya Wickremesinghe has confirmed that Dasun Shanaka will continue as captain of the Sri Lanka T20 International team until the conclusion of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Speaking following his appointment as Chief Selector, Wickremesinghe stated that the previous selection committee had already finalized a 25-member squad in preparation for the World Cup.
He added that the current selection panel has decided to retain the same squad without any changes.
The decision signals continuity in leadership and selection strategy as Sri Lanka builds toward the 2026 global tournament.
