Nominations sought for Selection Committee

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has called for nominations from its affiliated member clubs and associations for the formation of the National Selection Committee.

In a circular dated 23 October, SLC Secretary Bandula Dissanayake invited official nominations for consideration to the next selection panel.

He has thus sought submissions be duly signed by authorised representatives and reach the SLC on or before 5 November.

The call for nominations comes as the term of the current selection committee, led by ex-Sri Lanka skipper Upul Tharanga, nears completion.

The incumbent panel also includes Ajantha Mendis, Indika de Saram, and Tharanga Paranavitana, who were appointed following Sri Lanka’s dismal 2023 ICC Men’s 50-over World Cup campaign, where Sri Lanka failed to qualify for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Since then, Sri Lanka’s performances have shown some improvement, with the national side currently ranked No. 4 in ODIs and No. 6 in tests, though T-20I cricket remains an issue with the team ranked 8th.
