Cavaliers take off to Malaysia on Wednesday

Lanka Cavaliers, the first veterans cricket club in Sri Lanka, is expected to play two 35-over encounters with the Malaysian Masters cricket team. The team will be led by Mahesh Wijenayake, an ex-Wesleyite.

Lanka Cavaliers, 28 years in existence, was formed by the late Sri Lanka Test skipper Bandula Warnapura. Their first tour took place 25 years ago to Dubai, and they then toured India thrice and this is the second to Malaysia. Most of the members of the team are former national players and first class cricketers.
