Bangladesh square the series with an emphatic win over Sri Lanka by 16 runs in a pendulum swung encounter.

Bangladesh with two changes leving out Litton Das and resting Taskin Ahmed made 248 , a par score in their alloted 50 overs but were bowled out in 48.3 overs.

Win the toss and bat first was the way to go on a dry pitch, and that’s what they did .

They lost opener Tanzin Hasan for 2 , with the score on 10. Najmul Shanto joined Hassan Emon, and the pair stiched an excellent partnership to bring Bangladesh to respectability before Najmul Shanto departed for 14 with the score on 73.

Hassan Emon took respectability batted with a positive mindset to score 67 runs in 69 deliveries, striking 6 boundaries and 3 maximums, bur fell victim to a Hasaranga legitimate leg spinner and he departed opening the flood gates with Bangladesh on 110 runs for 3 wickets with two new batters namely Towhid Hridoy and Mehedy Hassan at the wickets.

Wickets started tumbling , with Bangladesh sliding down to 213 for 8 wickets as Hridoy departed for 51, sadly run-out, attempting a second run to keep the strike

Sri Lanka looked to wrap up the innings, not realising that Tanzib Shakib was no mug with the bat.

He thumped 33 in 22 balls , and he made Hasaranga look ordinary, and his figures of 3 for 60 tell us the story.

Asitha Fernando took 4 forc35 , as Bangladesh made 248 all out , a par score at the RPICS.

Sri Lanka lost Pathum Nissanka for 5. , with the score on 6.

Kusal Mendis made a quick fire 57 , but after his dismissal, Sri Lanka fell into a no-go zone. .

They lost wickets regularly with Tanvveer Islam doing the damage with his left arm orthodox spin , scalping 5 for 39 , as Sri Lanka struggled on 8 for 170.

Janith Liyanage restored the Sri Lankan innings with a classy knock of 79 runs in 85 balls with 7 boundaries and 2 massive sixes, but his effort fell apart when Mustafizur Rahman had his caught and bowled in the 47th over , and the home team was bowled out for 232.

Kamindu Mendis made 33 , but his shot selection got him into trouble. He needs to address his approach period.

The series remains square, with the 3rd odi on the 8th of July .
