India and Sri Lanka to host 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup will be held from 30 September to 2 November across 5 venues in India and Sri Lanka.

The 50-over tournament returns to the subcontinent after 12 years, with matches set for Bengaluru, Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam, and Colombo. India will kick off the event with a high-profile opener in Bengaluru.

8 teams—India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan—will compete, with Australia entering as defending champions and the most decorated team in the tournament’s history.

The semi-finals are scheduled for 29 and 30 October, followed by the final on 2 November. ICC Chair Jay Shah also unveiled key details for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, emphasising continued investment in the women’s game.
