Left-arm wrist-spinner Noor Ahmad delivered a standout performance with figures of 4-31, while Dewald Brevis smashed a rapid 22-ball fifty as the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) edged out the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by two wickets in a thrilling IPL 2025 match at Eden Gardens on Wednesday, May 7.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are all but out of the IPL 2025 playoffs race as they lost a last over nail-biter against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Chasing 180, CSK were down at 60/5, but a 22-ball half-century by Dewald Brevis, including 30 runs off one over against Vaibhav Arora, swung the game in CSK’s favour. Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni made good contributions to guide CSK home.
CSK debutant Urvil Patel also shone with a fiery 11-ball 31. Earlier, Noor Ahmad picked up four wickets while Andre Russell smashed a 21-ball 38. The defeat means reigning champions KKR can now reach a maximum of 15 points, and need a mathematical miracle to qualify
