Maradana Zahira College, Kandy Trinity College, Colombo Royal College and Isipathana College qualified for the semi-finals of the Inter-School President’s Cup Knockout Rugby Tournament.
Defending champions Isipathana College, who played a heated match against Wesley College at the Royal College Sports Complex in Colombo, recorded a 24-10 victory, while Royal College, who played against D.S. Senanayake College at the Havelock Grounds, achieved a 41-24 victory.
Trinity College, which played against St. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia at the Havelock Grounds the day before yesterday, won by 24-15 points, while Zahira College advanced to the semi-finals with an uncontested victory as St. Peter’s College withdrew from the tournament.
Royal College scored 4 goals, 2 tries and a penalty against D.S. Senanayake College, while D.S. added 2 goals and 2 tries to its tally. Royal College led 21-12 at the end of the first half.
