Wicketkeeper batsman Supun Nawaratne anchored Thurstan College batting line up with a valuable half-century to record a thrilling two wicket victory over Isipatana College in their 30th Limited Overs Big Match played at P. Sara Stadium yesterday.

Chasing 162 runs to victory, Thurstan were 81 for four wickets at one stage before Nawaratne helped them with his match winning knock for them to reach the target with five overs to spare.

Nawaratne faced 81 balls for his knock which included six fours.

Earlier put to bat, Isipatana College struggled to post 161 runs as their late order collapsed after being placed at 121 for four wickets at one stage. Apart from Dimuth Varapitiya and Thivanka Ransinghe no other batsmen could top 30 runs for Isipatana. Sachith Dias was the pick of the bowlers for Thurstan as he picked up four wickets.

With their two wicket victory, Thurstan equaled the victory tally 15-15 and it was their fourth consecutive limited overs match victory in the series.
