08 February 2010- Sri Lanka increased its bronze medal tally by winning five bronze medals in Table Tennis on the 11th day of the 11th South Asian Games here in Dhaka, Bangladesh today.
Ishara Maduwangi together with Rohan Sirisena, also Tharinda Weerakoon partnered by Chalith Ranjana won bronze medals in mixed doubles after loosing to Indian pairs.
In the Women’s doubles Ishara Maduwangi and Tharindra Weerakoon lost to India 3-0 and in Men’s doubles Chalitha Ranjana and Rohan Sirisena together with Dinesh Deshapriya and Sajith Priyadarshana also lost their games to India, but able to win the bronze.
In the evening Chalitha ranjana and Tharindra Weerakoon will meet the challenges from India in men’s and women’s singles semi finals.
